In my first The Face Shop haul, I purchased the Cleansing Foam and the Essential Cream from the Arsainte Eco-Therapy line on the suggestion of the sales associate (SA). I have been using this cleansing foam every day since.
I have been searching for the perfect natural pink polish, but somehow I always end up with the wrong colour. Every shade I try always turns out being too bright, too dark, too sheer… and what irks me most of all, too cool for my skin tone. I always inevitably end up choosing the exact shade of pink to give me Pepto-Bismol nails. Lovely.
I thought I had finally found the perfect shade of natural pink for my skin tone. By natural, I meant pink enough to be opaque and visibly pink, but not overwhelmingly eye-catching. It also had to be a warm pink in order to suit my warm skin tone, as cool pinks look much too harsh and unflattering on my nails.
I am not a person who can rely on luck. Don’t get me wrong, I am lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful family and people I love. But I am never lucky when it comes to games of chance. I don’t win contests, draws, or lotteries – it’s almost as if the odds are always tipped against me, no matter how you calculate the actual probability.
Imagine my surprise when I got a message from Gummy Vision that I had won something from her 2013 Holiday Giveaway!
Hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas! We lost power from a massive ice storm, so keeping warm was definitely a priority. I’m getting a little sick, but I refuse to miss another New Year’s Eve. One year I was down with the flu and it was horrible being alone and sick in the house while everyone was out.
I’m wearing a Little Black Dress for New Year’s Eve. Everyone’s got their favourite LBD – mine is this one by 59 Seconds from YesStyle.ca
I’ll be the first person to admit that I am not the most diligent when it comes to skincare routines. In fact, my morning routine just consists of splashing water on my face and patting it dry (in defiance of everything everyone has ever told me about twice-a-day routines). I really would rather sleep in for the few extra minutes. In fact, I would go to school in pajamas if I could.
I’ve been pretty diligent lately and am starting to look forward to my nighttime skincare every night. I’ve started to think of it as a treat, associating it with relaxation and a break from studying. Here’s what I have been using recently and how I have been using it.
I wrote a review for yesstyle.ca two years ago when I first ordered off the website because I couldn’t find any reviews commenting on how trustworthy it was. Since then, I’ve made quite a few orders and I dug up some pictures I had taken of a bag haul from YesStyle from last year. I got 4 in total: 2 bags that were more casual and 2 that were more sophisticated.
This post will focus on the two casual bags that I bought from YesStyle.ca
Faux Leather Trim Backpack – 59 Seconds
Firstly, blogging is lagging behind as I struggle to keep up with the influx of thesis demands and lack of sleep 😦 I am thoroughly sick of working, though, and I can’t stop obsessing over (my lack of) blogging. Without further ado, let’s get down to business so I can finish this and concentrate on my work 😛
Thanks to a recommendation by Lil Miss Shanghai, I made my first order from COSME-DE.COM on the 19th. The order was dispatched the very next day on the 20th. Although the estimated delivery date was stated as March 29th – April 9th, I got my package yesterday on the 26th. Considering that COSME-DE is based in Hong Kong and my package was an international delivery, I am duly impressed by the delivery speed!
Here’s my mini haul:
Skin 79 Lovely Girl BB Cream and Imju Dejavu Fiberwig Paint-On False Lashes Extra Long Mascara
I wonder if you’re wondering why I made such a small international purchase. Most of my international hauls are quite a bit more substantial than a measly total of 2 items. (That reminds me, I haven’t posted any of my YesStyle hauls >__< despite my review)
The review I’ve put off for far too long: Skin79’s VIP Gold Collection Super Plus BB Cream.
The BB is supposed to stand for blemish balm, but I have no idea why Skin79 insists on calling their BB creams “Beblesh Balm”. I thought it was pretty funny at first, as a very typical spelling mistake that I often see on Asian products. So techinically, this is Skin79’s VIP Gold Collection Super+ Beblesh Balm.
BB cream has been around for quite a while now, and a lot of people are more familiar with it, especially since it started to move its way into the American market. I first learned of it last year and did all this research already (I’m too thorough for my own good), but since I’m planning on doing some BB cream reviews soon, I figured I’d better have this up beforehand just in case.
BB cream stands for blemish balm cream. It was originally a dermatologist-prescribed ointment intended for laser skin surgery patients. Formulated in Germany with soothing, healing, and skin-regenerative properties, South Korean actresses soon picked them up for use and the Korean market saw a great potential, modifying it to be an all-around beauty product.
A few of the Asian brand BB creams shown here: Missha, Skin79, L’egere, Hanskin, Skinfood. Available in select Canadian Asian stores and via online shopping and international shipping.
