My Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

I’ll be the first person to admit that I am not the most diligent when it comes to skincare routines. In fact, my morning routine just consists of splashing water on my face and patting it dry (in defiance of everything everyone has ever told me about twice-a-day routines). I really would rather sleep in for the few extra minutes. In fact, I would go to school in pajamas if I could.

I’ve been pretty diligent lately and am starting to look forward to my nighttime skincare every night. I’ve started to think of it as a treat, associating it with relaxation and a break from studying. Here’s what I have been using recently and how I have been using it.

Yves Rocher haul: botanical beauty

I’ve been a very bad girl.

I know my bank account is almost empty (I’m looking at you, Potential Summer Job: please replenish my funds). And yet I really can’t help myself. Especially when I get deals like this delivered straight to my Inbox, which is open whenever my browser is open. And that’s open whenever my computer’s on. And that’s whenever I’m home and not sleeping. In fact, I keep my computer on when I’m out and when I’m sleeping sometimes – it’s terrible for my decade-old laptop, I know that already too.

So here was the deal: $5 off with a $25 CAD order with free shipping. Plus a free weekender bag (or a free nourishing shampoo, free intense look duo, or 3 trees planted) with every order. Plus a free contemporary cuff watch with a $45 order.

Oh, and most of the items were around 50% off, give or take some. How can even a shopaholic-in-denial deny such an offer?

Rantings against the ravings of Burt’s Bees lip balms

This stuff.

Oh, how I hate this stuff.

I know how everyone else loves Burt’s Bees lip balms. I had first learned of it back in elementary school, when a friend of mine had the balm in the cute little tin. I wanted one for myself: I liked the packaging and it was natural – it HAD to be good. And I keep hearing everyone ever since then rave about how great it is, how moisturizing, how it’s one of their favourite lip balms.

Valentine’s Day alone? No problem!

My guilty pleasure.

No, really!

I spent the entire today in class and in lab, with my beau in another city. I’d honestly forgotten that it was Valentine’s Day until I got a text from Dark. I spent my day having to interact with people I really didn’t want to interact with. You know those people in a position of authority who like to just bring down the spirits of everyone else in the room, just because they can.

But Valentine’s Day can be spent showing yourself some love, whether you have a partner or not, or if you’re separated from them. Why not take advantage of a day to pamper yourself?

Knowing I’d be spending a rough day today, I started my Valentine’s Day last night with a nice bubble bath – the perfect way to relax and unwind on a cold winter’s day!
